Overview

As you know, Rulerr provides your organization the ability to view people risk in real time. Rulerr constantly monitors who has access to what and who is doing what to create a real time view of risk within your organization. To provide you with this risk overview and flag events of interest, Rulerr utilizes learning algorithms and statistical analysis to process the huge amounts of information provided by the external software integrated with Rulerr and turn it into useful insights.

To provide this real time overview Rulerr needs to be integrated with external products. External products can be integrated with:

People

This allows Rulerr People and external people management software to stay in sync

Access Privileges

This allows Rulerr Access to report access privileges as well use access privilege information to analyze the risk profile of each person in your organization

Analytics

This allows Rulerr to analyze the behaviors and actions of everyone in your organization and flag people with the highest risk profile so you can target your security training and close security holes as quickly as possible.

Integration Types

Rulerr can be integrated with external products in 3 ways:

Manual

Products that cannot or have yet to be integrated with Rulerr automatically.

This type of integration requires that you manually import information into Rulerr.

On-Premise

Products that you operate on your premise or in a closed environment. This integration type allows you to run the integration software locally.

This type of integration allows Rulerr to analyze and report information from the external software in real time.

Cloud

Rulerr offers a number of cloud integrations that either we have written, external developers have written or your organization have written. These cloud integrations run on infrastructure that Rulerr controls to maximize security, up-time and speed.

This type of integration allows Rulerr to analyze and report information from the external software in real time.


Add or Delete Integration

If you are a Monarch, Rulerr Product Expert or have the Integration Role you can add or delete Product Integrations.

Add Integration

  1. click Integrations in the dropdown menu next to your name
  2. select from the listed Automatic integrations or click Add Custom button
  3. select which part of Rulerr you would like the integration to integrate with (e.g. People, Access, Analytics)
  4. Fill in the details of the integration
  5. click the save button


Delete Integration

To delete an Integration:

  1. click Integrations in the dropdown menu next to your name
  2. click the Integration you wish to delete - you will be taken to the Integrations details
  3. click the delete button - a pop-up will show
  4. click the delete button to confirm delete

NOTE
By deleting an Integration, Rulerr and the external software will no longer be able to stay in sync. Audit Log information will be preserved.

Change Integration Type

If an integration was Manual and you wish to change it to On-Premise or Cloud you can do this at any time.

  1. click Integrations in the dropdown menu next to your name
  2. click the Integration you wish to edit - you will be taken to the Integrations details
  3. change the integration type to On-Premise or Cloud
  4. enter any further details required for the integration
  5. click the save button

You will no longer need to import access privileges manually for the product.

NOTE
When you switch an Integration from Manual to On-Premise or Cloud, Rulerr will automatically import the access privileges, people or events from the product. Any access privilege reporting or collaboration settings you have set (in Rulerr) for the Product will not change. Links between accounts in the Product and People in Rulerr will not be effected.

Writing an integration

Any Product (software, hardware or app etc) your organization uses can be quickly and easily integrated with Rulerr to provide your organization with real time:

  1. Risk profiling, reporting and management
  2. Access privilege reporting and collaboration
  3. People management
  4. Audit Logging

Rulerr offers a full public API for integrating products with Rulerr that anyone can use to create an Automatic (On-Premise or Cloud) integration with Rulerr. If you would like to know more about how to integrate a product with Rulerr, check out the Rulerr Developers site.
